Doctor reinstated after sexual transgressions
The Medical Board of California on Wednesday reinstated the license of Bakersfield doctor Esmail Nadjmabadi.
After undergoing professional boundaries training, Nadjmabadi was placed on seven years’ probation. During that time, he is prohibited from supervising physician assistants and from engaging in the solo practice of medicine.
An accusation was filed against the Bakersfield internist in 2006 after several female patients complained of sexual improprieties. In 2009, Nadjmabadi pleaded no contest in an administrative hearing to sexual exploitation by a physician.
The board’s formal accusation had alleged sexual misconduct by Nadjmabadi against six female patients in 2005, including touching inappropriately, remaining in the examination room alone with them while they disrobed, failing to provide patients with gowns, and performing examinations that were not medically indicated.
